What is the name of your organization?
AKCG - Public Relations Counselors

Senior living and independent schools.

Link to the story here.
Why does this win matter to you/your organization?
This piece shows how living in an older adult community can lead to a fulfilling life of continuous learning and growth, surrounded by supportive friends and staff. Mildred even says that living in Applewood Village has been the best part of her life!
What is one of your favorite moments from your current organization?
I've had the chance to be present during a few different media visits over the past six months. It's been great not only to meet the journalists and learn about them as people, but also to see the stories we pitched in action. Many of the stories we pitch have real effects on people - whether it's finding connection later in life or programs that help students in need.
Are you an active volunteer or member in any organization beyond PPRA?
I am also a PRSA Philly member.
Have you had an influential mentor in your life? If so, how did they influence your career?
Dr. Suzanne Fitzgerald from Rowan University was a key part of my growth in college, which led me to where I am today.
At Rowan, being in leadership for, and eventually president of, PRSSA gave me critical experience working with a team, planning events, staying organized and driving a mission forward. When I faced a challenge or was unsure of myself, Dr. Fitzgerald gave me advice and guided me to solving problems effectively. This helped me build my confidence which I carry into work today.
What's something you'd like to learn?
I always want to continue learning and embrace whatever opportunities come my way. I'd love to continue meeting new people, including public relations professionals and new clients.
Just for fun – what was your first concert?
Twenty One Pilots in 2018 was my first! My favorite concert was definitely Billie Eilish in 2024.
