Hispanic Voices in the Newsroom Media Panel
Each year, Hispanic Heritage Month takes place from September 15 – October 15. We recognize that heritage months aren't enough. We must listen to and share the voices of Hispanic journalists, communities, and news outlets year-round.
Last year, we dove deep, discussing the importance of having Hispanic voices in the newsroom or running the newsroom. We spoke about the lack of diversity in newsrooms and the value of affinity-based outlets. Where are we today? Have we seen any new changes or progress? What is working, and what is still behind? How can we help build a pipeline of Hispanic journalists and communications practitioners?
Let’s keep the conversation going. In this panel discussion, we will discuss the advancement and value of multilingual news outlets and communications, how partners like the NAHJ are invaluable, and what we need to do and see next.
